Marubeni has been chosen for the 2026 Health & Productivity Stock Selection, jointly organized by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
Health & Productivity Stock SelectionThis selection recognizes outstanding TSE-listed enterprises engaging in health and productivity management1, whereby these enterprises focus on and strategically implement initiatives relating to their employees’ and other workers’ health from a management perspective. This is the fifth time Marubeni has been selected over four consecutive years following the previous selection in 2025. It is also the ninth consecutive year the company has been certified as a “White 500” company (a certification awarded to corporations, including large- as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises, practicing outstanding health and productivity management).
Health and Productivity Management at MarubeniMarubeni regards its employees as an indispensable asset and considers their health to be of paramount importance. The company thus undertakes initiatives to create an environment in which each employee can autonomously and proactively take steps to maintain and promote their health.In October 2025, Marubeni strengthened its commitment to promoting health and productivity management by transitioning to a new organizational structure in which the President and CEO serves as the Chief Health Management Officer and the Director in charge of the Human Resources Department serves as the Health Management Promotion Officer.Under this framework, Marubeni continually implements and expands health-related initiatives, focusing on four main themes in its related policies. These themes are as follows: (1) improving health literacy, (2) strengthening countermeasures against cancer and lifestyle-related diseases, (3) strengthening mental health measures, and (4) strengthening initiatives to maintain and promote women’s health.
Examples of Initiatives for FYE Mar. 2026•Improving Health LiteracyMarubeni is implementing health management e-learning courses, which collate useful information to support each employee in autonomously and proactively taking steps to maintain and promote their health.
•Strengthening Countermeasures Against Cancer and Lifestyle-Related DiseasesMarubeni holds walking events every spring and autumn. The previous autumn event had a record-high participation of over 1,700 employees, including President & CEO Omoto and senior management. Additionally, a new “Good Sleep and Sleep Improvement Program” was introduced with a range of initiatives including sleep-related surveys, seminars, and an improvement program that utilized sleep-tracking devices.
•Strengthening Initiatives for Maintaining and Promoting Women’s HealthMarubeni contributes to “creating an environment to ensure women can continue thriving at work,” which is defined in the Female Empowerment at Work 2.0 policy2, through the “Marubeni Femtech Program3”, the provision of increased subsidies for physical examinations related to the early detection of gynecological cancers, and a new training program that simulates menstrual pain that primarily targets managerial-level employees.
Marubeni will continue to promote health and productivity management and deepen human capital management, thereby leveraging these efforts to support the active participation of employees and facilitate the growth of the Marubeni Group.
