Marubeni has concluded an agreement (hereinafter, the “Agreement”) with Nagoya City, Aichi, Japan, and Persol Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Persol Holdings”) regarding collaboration and cooperation for supporting the globalization of companies based in Nagoya City. This Agreement was adopted after a joint proposal by Persol Holdings and Marubeni, submitted in response to a public-private partnership promotion initiative by Nagoya City calling for proposals for “promoting globalization, including overseas expansion, for companies based in Nagoya City.”
Project OverviewUnder this Agreement, Marubeni will provide incentives to companies based in Nagoya City when they move into industrial parks in Asia, as well as support overseas expansion through seminars and consultations, and will also support companies from overseas seeking to enter Nagoya City. Persol Holdings will support the recruitment of overseas personnel and provide various training programs upon recruitment. Nagoya City will be the third municipality that Marubeni has entered into a similar agreement with (after agreements signed to support overseas expansion of companies based in Aichi Prefecture in June 2023 and Hamamatsu City in October 2025) to provide incentives for moving into industrial parks with the aim of expanding manufacturing businesses overseas.
Marubeni’s Industrial Park InitiativesBeginning with the development of the Lat Krabang Industrial Park in Thailand in the 1980s, Marubeni has developed and operates seven industrial parks in six countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In 2024, Marubeni invested in and began participating in the development of Amata City Ha Long Industrial Park in Vietnam as well as began sales cooperation for Indospace-operated rental factories and warehouses in India, followed by the Amata City Long Thanh Industrial Park in Vietnam in 2025. Through its industrial park business in Asia, Marubeni strives to contribute to the economic growth of the local communities where each park is located.
Future OutlookMarubeni will continue to leverage its extensive knowledge, experience, and network in industrial park development and operation to support Nagoya City-based companies in capturing overseas demand and revitalizing their businesses, while also contributing to economic and industrial development in the countries the companies expand into.
