Marubeni has been chosen for the 2025 Health & Productivity Stock Selection, jointly organized by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).

Health & Productivity Stock Selection
This selection recognizes outstanding TSE-listed enterprises engaging in health and productivity management*1, whereby these enterprises focus on and strategically implement initiatives relating to their employees’ and other workers’ health from a management perspective. This is the fourth time Marubeni has been selected over three consecutive years following the previous selection in 2024. It is also the eighth consecutive year the company has been certified as a “White 500” company (a certification awarded to corporations, including large as well as small and medium sized enterprises, practicing outstanding health and productivity management).

Health and Productivity Management at Marubeni
Marubeni regards its employees as an indispensable asset and considers their health to be of paramount importance. The company thus undertakes initiatives to create an environment in which each employee can autonomously and proactively take steps to maintain and promote their health.
As part of its health and productivity management, Marubeni continually implements and expands health-related initiatives, focusing on four main themes in its related policies. These themes are as follows: (1) Improving health literacy, (2) Strengthening countermeasures against cancer and lifestyle-related diseases, (3) Strengthening mental health measures, and (4) Strengthening initiatives to maintain and promote women’s health.

Examples of Initiatives

  • Improving Health Literacy
    Implementation of health management e-learning courses, which collate useful information to support each employee in autonomously and proactively taking steps to maintain and promote their health.
  • Strengthening of Countermeasures Against Cancer and Lifestyle-related Diseases
    Implementation of the “Five Year Non-Smoking Plan” starting in FY2024. This plan will gradually expand non-smoking hours and establish a working environment in which smoking is completely prohibited from the beginning to the end of the workday by FY2028.
  • Strengthening Initiatives for Maintaining and Promoting Women’s Health
    Marubeni contributes to “creating an environment to ensure women can continue thriving at work,” which is defined in the Female Empowerment at Work 2.0 policy*2, through the “Marubeni Femtech Program*3” and the provision of increased subsidies for physical examinations related to the early detection of gynecological cancers.

Marubeni will undertake initiatives to promote health and productivity management while also deepening human capital management into the future thereby supporting the active participation of employees while leveraging these efforts to facilitate growth of the Marubeni Group.

*3 A digital healthcare service which supports working women with concerns related to menstrual cycles (including PMS) and menopause through online consultation and prescription of low dose oral contraceptives and herbal medicine as needed. The service also helps promote mutual understanding among colleagues through online seminars about women’s health issues in which employees of all genders are invited to participate.
