Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni) is pleased to announce the launch of a new ad series featuring One Piece, one of Japan’s most beloved adventure stories.

One Piece, which follows the thrilling adventures of a cast of unique characters who form a friendly pirate crew to search for fabled treasure, began as a manga (comic) serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and was later adapted into an animated TV series. Led by main character Luffy, all members of the Straw Hat Crew contribute their own particular strengths to their grand quest—to find the mysterious “One Piece” treasure that connects them all. Their story, which continues to this day, is hugely popular around the world.

This new ad series will connect the world of One Piece with Marubeni’s vision for the future, the Global crossvalue platform, in which Marubeni will:

  • Anticipate the issues and challenges facing society and create innovative solutions for our customers and for the world, breaking down barriers between sectors, between internal and external, crossing borders, building on our existing business models and expanding into new markets.
  • Generate new value by freely combining our Group’s strengths, internal and external expertise, individual dreams and visions, taking the Marubeni Group as one single platform.

Under the slogan together, we can go further, Marubeni will work in tandem with our stakeholders to deliver solutions and create new values that make the world a better place.

Marubeni’s vision will set sail into the world of One Piece during the new ad series’ “Voyage” phase, which will be released on July 22, 2022. This phase will feature the theme “What would Marubeni do in the world of One Piece?” to introduce Marubeni’s many businesses and connect how they would positively impact the world of One Piece with how they will continue striving to make our own world a better place.
