Marubeni Corporation ("Marubeni") is pleased to announce the formation of a Joint Venture for the manufacture and sales of pasta and other food products between Marubeni, Nisshin Foods Inc., Nisshin Seifun Group Inc. (jointly “Nisshin Seifun Group”), Nuh’un Ankara Makarnasi Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. (“Nuh’un Ankara”), which is the largest pasta manufacturer in Turkey.

Turkey is one of the world’s largest agricultural countries, and is well-known as a production area of various agricultural products such as wheat and other grains, vegetables, and fruits. Moreover, the country is in an extremely good location in terms of key junctions connecting to Asia, Europe, and Africa. It also has a young and vibrant domestic market, and is surrounded by emerging markets such as Middle Eastern countries, Russia, and North Africa, and the mature European market.

Marubeni has strengthened its relationship with Nisshin Seifun Group in various fields, including raw material supply and product sales. Nuh’un Ankara is the largest pasta manufacturer in Turkey, and has its head office and factory in Ankara. Nuh’un Ankara has developed an integrated system from semolina milling to pasta production, and has been known familiarly under the “Nuh’un Ankara” brand and others since it started manufacturing pasta with advanced facility and manufacturing know-how in 1946. Marubeni has strengthened its relationship with Nuh’un Ankara through collaboration in trade.

Marubeni enters the food manufacturing business in Turkey by participating in this Joint Venture, and will strongly promote pasta products sales in global markets, based on a relationship of mutual trust among the Joint Venture partners.
