Warning regarding "phishing mails"

We have recently become aware of several “Phishing mails” sent under the name of "Marubeni" from an address that seeks to mimic a legitimate “Marubeni” domain address.

An example of one of these phishing mails is as follows.

 

 

【Example】

Dear Sir,

We introduce ourselves as one of the biggest Trading houses (shogo sasha)in Japan that specialises in the importation of goods for our customers. We are in need of pump systems for our production line. We have released our purchase tenders for the second quarter of the year. Having gone through your profile in website we are glad to issue you this trial PO. Please download PO in our Secure Webmail Server as we have created a personal profile for you. Please note that the products are for the Japaneese market and pay special attention to the areas marked in green circles. Out technical team also attached some drawings, dimensions and specs.

3. Signed copy of PO

Please note that our preferred method of business transaction is L/C. Product origin must be stated clearly while filling out/signing the PO.
