Establishment of a New Company to Develop a DX/GX Solution Business for the Corrugated Packaging Industry

Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”), Marubeni Forest LinX Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Forest LinX”), and TIS Inc. (hereinafter, “TIS”) have established a joint venture company, Packamate Inc. (hereinafter, “Packamate”), on April 1, 2025, to provide DX/GX solutions for the corrugated packaging industry.

Background and Issues
Amid the rapid digitalization and increasing social demand for sustainability, there is a growing need for business process improvement across all industries. The corrugated packaging industry in particular continues to see steady demand growth, driven partly by the expansion of e-commerce. However, the industry faces increasing complexity due to product customization requirements and diversifying customer needs, leading to complicated business processes. Additionally, there is growing pressure from customers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout their supply chains, heightening expectations for digital technology and decarbonization solutions.

Packamate will provide DX solutions to enhance efficiency and sophistication in the corrugated packaging industry as well as GX solutions that contribute to decarbonization.

• DX Solutions
  As the first step, Packamate launched “Packamate Quote,” a service that streamlines and enhances the quotation process for corrugated packaging users, on April 1, 2025. Approximately 50 companies have already implemented the service.

  As the first step, Packamate will soon launch “Packamate Scope3,” a service that enables corrugated packaging users to precisely calculate and visualize Scope 3* emissions associated with corrugated packaging procurement.

Future Outlook
Packamate will progressively provide services that contribute to efficiency and advancement (DX) as well as decarbonization (GX) in the corrugated packaging industry, while building an integrated platform for these solutions that integrates these services. By combining Marubeni and Forest LinX’s industry expertise and networks with TIS’s digital technology capabilities, Packamate aims to continuously create new value through digital solutions and become an indispensable partner for all stakeholders.

*Scope 3 emissions refer to indirect greenhouse gas emissions in a company’s supply chain (excluding Scope 1 and 2). This service focuses on calculating Category 1 (purchased goods and services) and Category 4 (upstream transportation and distribution) emissions.
