Marubeni has received the “Platinum Kurumin Plus” certification in recognition of its outstanding childcare and related systems and support for employees in balancing work and fertility treatments.

About the Platinum Kurumin Plus certification
The Platinum Kurumin Plus certification is awarded as part of an accreditation system established in Japan accompanying a revision of the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children of April 1, 2022. It is bestowed on companies which have previously received Platinum Kurumin certification* and which provide outstanding support for childcare while implementing initiatives to support the balancing of fertility treatments and work which satisfy the more advanced standards for the Platinum Kurumin Plus accreditation set out by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW).
Promotion of work-life management at Marubeni

Work-life management initiatives at Marubeni
- Childcare service allowance and securing of places at childcare facilities
Marubeni has introduced a childcare service allowance, which covers part of the cost of childcare services, to support seamless return to work following maternity and childcare leave and to enable employees with childcare obligations to undertake business trips. Additionally, Marubeni has secured, and made available, permanent places at a daycare center near Marubeni’s head office in Tokyo. - Paid parental leave
Marubeni has put in place a system which allows male employees to take paid parental leave of up to four weeks within the eight-week period following the birth of their child, in addition to the childcare leave available to them. - Special leave for childcare, nursing, and fertility treatment
Marubeni has put in place a system of Family Support Leave (five days per year) and Special Medical Leave (cumulative maximum of 50 days) both of which can be availed of on either a half-day or full-day basis. - Free consultation for fertility planning and treatment
Marubeni has made available free consultation sessions on fertility planning and treatment provided by qualified physicians for employees wishing to avail of such. - Advanced medical treatment support system
Marubeni offers subsidies to help cover the costs of advanced healthcare including fertility treatment as defined by the MHLW.
