Conclusion of Contract Concerning the Strategic Partnership for Further Growth and Development of Marubeni Corporation and AEON Co., Ltd.

Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) and AEON Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “AEON”) have concluded a new “Contract Concerning the Strategic Partnership” (hereinafter, the “Contract”) aimed at further development of the “Letter of Agreement on Strategic Partnership” signed on March 27, 2013.

The Contract was signed with the intention of further developing the trust and proven track record that Marubeni and AEON have built over an extended period and to establish a partnership for creating new value by leveraging both companies’ business foundations. Through the Contract, the two companies will explore possibilities for business opportunities in all areas, including product procurement and development, domestic and international distribution structures, GX, and DX, to expand their joint efforts in the medium to long term.

Furthermore, to strengthen the relationship between the two parties, Marubeni has acquired additional shares in AEON.

By utilizing the management resources and expertise that both Marubeni and AEON possess, both companies aim to further enhance their corporate value.
