Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) hereby announces that its subsidiary, Marubeni Footwear Inc. (hereinafter, “Marubeni Footwear”), will change its company name to “Marubeni Consumer Brands Inc.” effective May 1, 2024, marking its 30th anniversary since its establishment. This change aims not only to drive growth in existing businesses such as Marubeni Footwear’s own children’s shoe brand IFME and the U.S. outdoor brand MERRELL, but also to provide added value to more consumers by expanding its product lineup beyond footwear, broadening its brand portfolio, and pursuing overseas business development with a focus on Asia. Marubeni Footwear's main business has traditionally been the planning, development, and sales of footwear, but with a new strategy and vision, it aims to further expand its business.
