Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”), MX Mobiling Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned Marubeni subsidiary (hereinafter, “MX Mobiling”), and TV TOKYO Corporation (hereinafter, “TV TOKYO”) will conduct a demonstration experiment (hereinafter, the “Demonstration”) to provide customer experiences through the limited-time installation of a docomo shop in the metaverse space “Ikebukuro Mirror World (*1)” operated by TV TOKYO during the “Ikebukuro Culture Festival 2023 (*2)“ event.
At the docomo shop in the metaverse space, sales staff in the guise of avatars will provide visitors with information on the latest smartphone models and special offers, as well as proposals to modify the pricing models of their current phone plans. In addition, in conjunction with the puzzle-solving event “Ikebukuro Neighborhood Puzzle: Kanahei’s Little Creatures Piske & Usagi and the Phantom Treasure” held during the “Ikebukuro Culture Festival 2023,” visiting the docomo shop in the metaverse space or a real docomo shop (selected locations) operated by MX Mobiling will offer clues needed to solve the puzzles and tricks which will allow participants to receive novelty gifts.
The purpose of this Demonstration is to interrogate how customer service in the metaverse space influences the inclination of visitors to complete purchases or visit stores in the real world. The demonstration is aimed at improving customer satisfaction by enhancing the quality of customer service in metaverse spaces and creating new customer contact points by pointing customers in the direction of actual stores.
Marubeni, MX Mobiling, and TV TOKYO, will continue to collect and share the latest information and insights on metaverse technology and content development. By applying this knowledge to their respective business areas, they will actively promote initiatives related to the metaverse.
