As of January 24, 2023, Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) has become a partner of the Copper Mark*1 to support the vision and goals of this framework and will encourage its own suppliers to participate in the Copper Mark Assurance Processes.
The Copper Mark, founded by the International Copper Association (“ICA”)*2, is a comprehensive, credible assurance framework that demonstrates the copper industry’s responsible production practices and industry contribution to the United Nations’ SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). In its Mid-Term Management Strategy GC2024, Marubeni has set aspiring to become a forerunner in green business by expanding green business and creating new green business as one of its key policies. Going forward, Marubeni will focus on the continuous improvement of responsible copper production in the copper industry and aims to strengthen the company’s commitment to the SDGs.
