Tokyo Tatemono Co.,Ltd. (President and CEO: Hitoshi Nomura; head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), Tokyu Land Corporation (President: Masashi Okada; head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), The Nishinippon Shimbun Co.,Ltd. (President: Kenya Shibata; head office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture), and Marubeni Corporation (President and CEO: Masumi Kakinoki; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) hereby announce that they have jointly acquired a site for the development of a multi-tenant logistics facility in Island City, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

This large-scale multi-tenant logistics facility is planned to be constructed on an Island City port site lot obtained through public offering sales by Fukuoka City in FY 2021 (The lot size is approx. 39,300㎡, and total floor space is approx. 148,000㎡.) Led primarily by Tokyo Tatemono, the joint venture of the four companies above will develop this site as the “T-LOGI Fukuoka Island City Perth” (tentative name), with construction scheduled to start in July 2022 and expected completion by January 2024.

The facility site is located approximately 1.4 km from the Island City entrance/exit on Fukuoka Expressway Route 6. It is an excellent location for short-distance delivery bases to Fukuoka City as well as for wide-area deliveries throughout Kyushu. This base will also provide a great connection between mainland Japan and Kyushu.

Another major trading location easily accessible from the facility site is the port of Hakata. Located near Island City, Hakata is a major domestic and international cargo hub with excellent access to major overseas trading ports, including those in Southeast Asia and the port of Naha in Okinawa Prefecture, with expectations for further expansion as an international logistics hub that connects various parts of Japan to the world.

The facility will have a six-story double rampway*1 with car access for every floor (maisonette use only on the 5th and 6th floors).*2 Its design will meet customers’ needs with a minimum lot size of approximately 5,000㎡ (planned). Environmental initiatives, such as installing solar panels at the facility, are also scheduled to be implemented.

Through this project, we will provide not only a convenient but also an environmentally friendly logistics base.

*1: A runway that allows trucks to drive directly into the warehouse with a dedicated runway for entrance and exit access.
*2: Use of multiple floors as a single-use compartment.
