Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, "Marubeni"), in collaboration with the largest private general hospital in Indonesia, PT. Siloam International Hospitals Tbk (hereinafter, "Siloam Hospital"), in which Marubeni has an equity stake, has begun to expand their infectious disease prevention consulting service (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"), which focuses on providing comprehensive advice on risk management protocols for infectious diseases for companies in Indonesia.
This service utilizes Siloam Hospital's expertise in infectious disease prevention in assessing the potential risk of infectious diseases in accordance with the business activities and facilities of each company.They provide comprehensive advice regarding the formulation of corporate guidelines as well as employee training with the purpose of significantly reducing the risks to employee health caused by infectious diseases. By reducing risks to employees health, the company not only protects their employees but also mitigates against potential reputational damage and supports business continuity, all of which can be affected by the spread of infectious diseases within workplaces.
As a first step, Marubeni has begun providing this service to PT. NSK Bearings Manufacturing Indonesia, which is based in the MM2100 Industrial Park*¹, about 30km east of the capital city of Jakarta.
By providing medical services at Siloam Hospital, Marubeni will continue to contribute to expanding access to high quality medical services to Japanese companies in Indonesia, not only in the MM2100 Industrial Park, but also to other Japanese companies in Indonesia.
Marubeni has been contributing to addressing the medical issues faced by the spread of COVID-19, such as the commencement of PCR testing for COVID-19 in the Philippines in April 2020. Marubeni will continue to make use of its network in Indonesia to contribute to the expansion of medical infrastructure and services in cooperation with Siloam Hospital.
