Marubeni has succeeded to renew the status of an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World for the 9th consecutive year

The status of Marubeni Corporation ("Marubeni") has been renewed as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World, one of the best known measures of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI)* in the world, for the 9th consecutive year.

 

The DJSI World evaluates companies for a high level of sustainability based on the three principal criteria of “Economy”, “Environment” and “Society”, as well as criteria specific to each company and industry.

 

This year 316 companies (317 companies in the previous year) from the largest 2,500 all over the world were selected for the index, including 26 Japanese companies (20 companies in the previous year).

 

Marubeni will continue to gain the trust of all its stakeholders and aim toward sustainable growth by making efforts to solve social and environmental issues at the same time as increasing its competitive power.

An index of socially responsible investment based not only on the financial aspects of companies but also on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) measures as important criteria for investment decisions.
