Marubeni Corporation has succeeded to renew the status of an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI World 2013/2014) for the 6th consecutive year.

The status of Marubeni Corporation ("Marubeni") has been renewed as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI World 2013/2014), one of the best known measures of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI)* in the world, for the 6th consecutive year.

The DJSI World evaluates companies for a high level of sustainability based on the three principal criteria of “Economy”, “Environment” and “Society”, as well as criteria specific to each company.

This year 333 companies (340 companies in the previous year) from all over the world were selected for the index, including 21 Japanese companies (20 companies in the previous year).

Marubeni has also achieved the top score to become “Industry Leader” in “Trading Companies Distributors”, the category to which Marubeni belongs. This is the 5th year Marubeni has achieved industry leader.

Going forward, Marubeni will continue to gain the trust of all its stakeholders and aim toward sustainable growth by making efforts to solving societal and environmental issues at the same time as increasing its competitive power.
