Marubeni Participates in Komatsu Distributor in Philippines

Marubeni Corporation (President: Nobuo Katsumata; Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter called “Marubeni”) has signed Share Purchase Agreement with the shareholders of Maxima Machineries, Inc. (President : Mr.Raul M.Ang; Head office: Quezon City, Philippines, hereinafter called “Maxima”) on purchase of total 40% shares of Maxima. Maxima is a sole distributor of Komatsu Construction Equipment in Philippines.
Marubeni has been exporting Komatsu Construction Equipment to Philippines for a long time and came to the above agreement with the shareholders of Maxima after a series of discussion with them on expansion of construction machine business in Philippines to respond to the strong demand in mining sector and construction sector.
In Philippines, the demand for the construction machine is increasing especially in Nickel and Copper mining.
Marubeni will expand Komatsu construction machine business in Philippines by strengthening the sales network, service system in Maxima.
