Jointly with Jurlique International Pty Ltd., Marubeni Chemix Corp., (hereunder Marubeni Chemix) 100% owned by Marubeni Corp. (hereunder Marubeni) has announced that it will team up in a joint venture with Jurlique International Pty Ltd., the supplier of Jurlique Brand. Jurlique Japan Co., Ltd. which has been established by Marubeni Chemix for the purpose of import & local-sales of Jurlique brand natural cosmetics of Australian origin will be converted to JV company with paid-up capital 100million JPY.
In Australia, Jurlique has already established its firm status of No.1 Skin-care brand. Under the ideal meteorological conditions of South Australia, its collection of plant and flower based extracts, made from lavender, rose, chamomile and calendula hand-sown, hand-tended and hand-harvested on its own farms based on organic and agrochemicals-free, and regarded as a pioneer of real natural full-dress cosmetic.
In U.S.A., Jurlique is regularly named by Vogue and Elle, and its eco-chic and Lohas-inspired famous actresses and models.
The Combination of Jurlique International’s marketing know-how backed up by its global operations in 22 countries, the credibility of Marubeni and the sales-network already established by Marubeni Chemix, especially 16 shops in first class department stores such as Isetan, Mitsukoshi, Seibu, Takashimaya, Daimaru, Matsuzakaya, Hankyu and Hanshin over 8 years have increased Jurlique’s presence in Japan very steadly.
Jurlique International considers that Japanese consumers are the most conscious of skin-care item and have sensitivity in its quality, and therefore it regard Japan as the most promising market to appeal its strength as real full-dress natural cosmetics.
In end/April, they will open new flag shop in Cosmetic Mall of New Marunouchi Bldg, and seek for further expansion of busness.
