In a follow-up to a contract for onsite power generation facilities awarded in 2008, Marubeni received an order from Jiangsu Oji Paper Co., Ltd. in China to provide paper and pulp production facilities. Utilizing its years of experience and well-developed engineering expertise, Marubeni will provide comprehensive support for the project.
Marubeni Awarded 5 Publicly Offered Projects Under METI Global Warming Countermeasures Project
REDD+ pilot site on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia
In addition to REDD+* in Indonesia, Marubeni has won four other publicly offered projects. These projects are part of efforts by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to promote widespread adoption of global warming countermeasures.
Marubeni will use the links across its business divisions, harnessing its comprehensive strengths to contribute to the global environment and Japan’s economic future.

Contract Signed for Rehabilitation of Textile Plant for the Ministry of Trade, Republic of Angola
Textile Plant Rehabilitation Project in the Republic of Angola
Following the previous textile plant rehabilitation project in the city of Luanda for the Republic of Angola’s Ministry of Geology, Mining and Industry, Marubeni has signed a contract for a similar project in the city of Benguela.
The full-turnkey contract for rehabilitation covers the installation of the state-of-the-art textile plants and utility facilities. Once completed, this project will greatly contribute to the revitalization of textile industries and the agriculture sector (cotton production), and generate employment opportunities to Angola.
