Marubeni Group's Corporate Social Responsibility
In order for the Marubeni Group to fulfill its obligations as a member of society, in accordance with the spirit grounded in "Fairness, Innovation and Harmony," which forms the basis for the Group's management, each and every employee in the Group needs to be engaged in corporate activities with a strong awareness of CSR. Furthermore, by making a serious efforts for CSR activities and striving for sound management whereby we can prosperously coexist with society and the environment, we believe that the Marubeni Group will be recognized by society as a good corporate citizen, and we will be able to achieve sustainable growth.
Marubeni's CSR Committee (currently CSR & Environment Committee) was established in April 2004 and since then, we have been engaged in strengthening our CSR activities in a range of areas.
We have highlighted the "reinforcement of our emphasis on CSR and environmental issues" as one of the priority measures in our medium-term management plan "SG2009 (Fiscal 2008-2009)," and we have endeavored to "practice our company creed, and build awareness of compliance, social contribution and environmental issues."
In specific activities, Marubeni has predominantly focused on thef following areas:

Promoting CSR together with Stakeholders
In order to become a company that can achieve sustainable growth while prosperously co-existing with society and the environment, we need to attempt to balance our value and reputation across the three areas of profit-generating economic activity, society and the environment. This is what we consider CSR management.
By promoting CSR management as a corporate group with the highest ethics, the Marubeni Group is striving to be an organization that all stakeholders will trust.
However, the Marubeni Group's CSR management is not something that we can achieve by the thoughts and actions of group employees alone. We believe that it is essential that we first listen to the views of our stakeholders, and then consider and work on applying practices together.
By pursuing the interests and satisfaction of the various stakeholders shown below, and by earning their trust, Marubeni is building the foundation for a stable and sustainable corporate group.
Of course, all stakeholders are important and, therefore, we do not intend to prioritize any of them.
Customers:
Based on customer needs, and after taking adequate safety considerations, we develop and offer products and services that are useful for society. Further, we constantly strive to improve satisfaction and win trust by always responding sincerely to customers.
Vendors:
We aim to be a company that promotes fair and transparent dealings, and which is trusted by vendors. In addition, we strengthen ties with vendors to create new products and services in light of customer needs.

We strive to respond to changes in the business environment, and to maintain stable profitability, while we live up to the expectations of shareholders by endeavoring to enhance corporate value with consideration of environmental and social aspects.
